Transition to the handgun

Readers since May 11, 1997.

Transition over the head

Starting with the rifle pointed in at the threat

The firing hand moves to the carry strap, opening the strap to make a large opening, while the support hand brings the rifle up to the head. The opening created by the firing hand is raised over the head. During the transition from the rifle to the handgun, the shooter maintains visual control of the threat.

The rifle is dropped over the back and support shoulder. Present the handgun using an approved presentation.
